Brubaker Schedules Hearing to Discuss Milk Pricing
HARRISBURG – Senator Mike Brubaker (R-36) has scheduled a hearing of the
Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee to examine the current milk
pricing structure to help struggling dairy farmers.
The hearing, scheduled for December 9 in Harrisburg, will focus on milk
pricing transparency. Brubaker said that examining the current milk pricing
structure will help the committee determine the steps necessary to help dairy
farmers who have struggled through low prices for their product over the past
year.
"I am hopeful that this hearing will help to determine where every penny of
the $3.43 per gallon goes when consumers buy a gallon of milk," Brubaker said.
"Examining the current pricing structure will help the committee determine what
tools the state can provide to help dairy farmers help themselves."
The hearing is scheduled for December 9 from 1-4 p.m. in Hearing Room 1 of
the North Office Building at the state Capitol in Harrisburg.
