Senator Scarnati Announces New Senate Committee Chairs 

Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati (R-25) has appointed new committee chairs for five Senate panels – Policy, Law and Justice, Transportation, Public Health and Welfare and Aging and Youth.

"Committee chairs are extremely important to the legislative process, because our committees are where new legislation is discussed and public hearings are held," Scarnati said.  "All of the new chairs bring experience and a broad knowledge of the issues for which they will be responsible."

The new committee chairs are:

  • Senator Ted Erickson (R-26) – Policy Committee
  • Senator John Pippy (R-37) – Law and Justice Committee
  • Senator John Rafferty (R-44) – Transportation Committee
  • Senator Pat Vance (R-31) – Public Health and Welfare Committee
  • Senator Kim Ward (R-39) – Aging and Youth Committee
